FEATURED PRODUCTS

Radiometer System
C-OPS is designed for determining AOPs in the ocean. It consists of 3 microradiometers—a stand-alone miniature sensor package containing a microprocessor, a preamplifier with 3-stage controllable gain, a 24-bit ADC converter and a serial communications port on a circuit board assembly the size of a pen. Biospherical Instruments Inc.

Deepwater Compact Work ROV
The 3,000-meter-rated Cougar-XTi is the deepwater version of the Cougar-XT. It features an 80-kg payload, a range of optional tool skids, a reduced tether and umbilical diameter, self diagnostics and a modular control system. Saab Seaeye Ltd.

Weather Station
Vantage Vue provides real-time, local weather monitoring, working with WeatherLinkIP software to create a personal Web site for the unit and connecting it to a global network of the company’s weather stations. It employs frequency-hopping spread spectrum radio technology to wirelessly send data up to 1,000 ft. to the console, which displays indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, and rainfall. Davis Instruments Corp.

Protective Case
Built as a protection option for hand-held electronics, the 1015 Micro Case has an internal rubber liner that doubles as a weather-resistant seal and shock absorber with a series of curved bumpers lining the perimeter. It has a polymer latch, stainless steel hinge, and a high-impact, heat and chemically resistant polymer shell. It also features loops at either end for easy tie-off and a carabiner to secure it to a belt loop or backpack. Pelican Products Inc.

MThermocouple Mini-Grabbers
Mini-Grabbers provide a continuous thermocouple connection from bare wires to the measuring instruments without attaching plugs. They are available in all ASTM Base Metal thermocouple types. Electronic Development Labs Inc.

Compact Integrated Bridge System
The CIBS is based on VisionMaster FT™ technology and utilizes the company’s TotalWatch™ multifunction displays, permitting the user to customize display screens. The system uses WideScreen™ display consoles. Standard operating modes include conning information display, radar only, chart radar, and an IMO-compliant electronic chart display and information system with optional iView™ 3D picture for underwater contours and hazards. Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine.

Battery Switches
Available in on/off disconnect and selector versions, these battery switches measure 4 3/4 in. in diameter and have a depth of 1 7/8 in. With locking and nonlocking models, they provide smooth rotary action and 90° position rotation. Rated 315 continuous and 450 intermittent, they are designed for use with 12, 24 and 32-V marine electrical systems. Perko Inc.

Check Valve
The TF-1 curved bill check valve has lower headloss than the original TF-2. It is constructed entirely of rubber, and the spine is at a greater vertical angle, making it able to withstand the cantilever effect when water is flowing through the valve. Tideflex Technologies.

Combination Sonar
The 4600 combines swath bathymetry with a multipulse CHIRP side scan sonar to produce a real-time, high-resolution 3D map of the seafloor, allowing for high-speed surveys while maintaining 100 percent bottom coverage. EdgeTech.

ECDIS
Now updated to the revised performance standards MSC232 (82), TG NAVECDIS automatically displays primary and secondary ship position and provides the navigator with ARPA and AIS target information, information from interfaced sensors, a heading indicator, a scaled ship outline to aid berthing, warnings and alarms, an automatic logbook, and TotalTide integration for worldwide tidal data. Thomas Gunn Navigation Services Ltd.

Satellite Communication Terminal
GLONASS navigation capability is now available for the DMR-800L, providing the capability to compute location using either or both of the GLONASS and GPS systems. SkyWave Mobile Communications.

Simulation Software
Project Simulator Version 1.6 brings another dimension to ROV pilot training and mission planning through the use of trainee task-logging tools and an expanded suite of generic training scenarios, including a jacket survey scenario using nondestructive testing tools. It also includes a number of on-line training videos for teaching scenario developers how to create field-level scenarios in house. VMAX Technologies Inc.

Workboat Engine
An 8-cylinder version of the Series 4000 is now available. Specific consumption has been reduced to 195 g per kWh and maintenance intervals for major overhauls have been extended to up to 34,000 hr., depending on output and load profile. The engine meets all current emission requirements such as EPA Tier 2, CCNR 2 and EU Stage IIIA. MTU Friedrichshafen.

Batteries
These marine & RV batteries have Absorbed Glass Mat technology, which provides extra protection against wave-pounding vibrations since the battery has no free-flowing acid—special microfiber glass mats absorb the acid to prevent spilling or leakage. Duracell.

Antenna
This 61-cm antenna can receive both L-band and S-band data from geostationary (LRIT) or low Earth-orbiting satellites (NOAA, DMSP, Feng Yun and METOP series). It is part of either the TacSAS or the WDS III yacht or commercial systems. SeaSpace Corp.

Vibration-Absorbing Wind Mast
Designed for use in the marine environment, this custom-manufactured mast absorbs vibrations from wind generators’ rotating blades due to a vibration-absorbing coating on its interior. The coating works by converting vibration into low-grade heat, which is then dissipated through the skin of the mast. It is marine durable, nonflammable and U.S. Coast Guard approved. e Marine Systems.

Boat Heater
True North Model 9206 AC electric heater has 3 heat settings (600, 900 and 1,500 watts), a built-in thermostat and an anti-freeze setting. It also features a low-profile, no-tip design. Caframo Ltd.

Tank Level Controller
The 101 provides a multifunctional display for all pressure or level transmitters utilizing a 4 to 20 mA output. It is fully programmable for depth, weight and volume and features an integral bar graph with analog/digital display. Functionality includes output control/alarm relays, multiple set points, specific gravity, 3 sensor inputs, and density and pressure compensation. An RS 485 serial interface option is available. Technical Marine Service LevelCom.
