Fire and Gas Detection System
HazardWatch™ controller, hardware configuration and software—now available with an online demo—have been tested and certified by Factory Mutual to verify NFPA 72 compliance. HazardWatch combines a programmable logic controller platform with gas and flame field devices. General Monitors Systems Group.

Pressure-Sensitive Tape
Ideal for use in a range of industries, including automotive, transportation and marine, as well as plastic and rubber extrusions and appliances for sound deadening applications, the 668M high-mass adhesive system demonstrates immediate bonds and excellent long-term shear strength, according to the company. The tape combines 150° F heat strength with ultraviolet resistance for long-term indoor and outdoor use. Adchem Corp.

Compact HDTV Component Camera
The oe14-502A underwater HDTV camera is smaller in size than other ROV inspection cameras and benefits from multistandard video capability, enabling users to quickly swap between settings, according to the requirements of the ROV inspection task and the area the work is being carried out, the company said. Switching between video output standards can be done via the remote control or software GUI. Kongsberg Maritime Ltd.

Underwater CO2 Sensor
The compact HydroC™, which weighs in at 4.2 kgs (2000-m rated), is an ideal sensor for environmental monitoring, oceanographic research and CO2 sequestration applications, the company said. Detectable gas molecules diffuse through special membranes to a detector chamber, where the concentration is optically measured. The optical measuring technology overcomes many of the disadvantages of other existing methods, the company said. Contros Systems and Solutions GmbH.

Space-Saving Flow Meter
Engineers in a tight spot over where to locate liquid and gas flow meters aboard offshore platforms, FPSO vessels and subsea installations will find the self-conditioning V-Cone® Offshore Flow Meter requires a pipe straight-run that is up to 70 percent less than other meters, resulting in real estate and installation cost savings that can actually exceed the cost of the instrument itself, according to the company. McCrometer Inc.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Sensor
For use in diving bells, chambers, lock-out compartments and other life-support applications, as well as for process control, the 2112 oxygen sensor is ideal for harsh environments where high reliability and accuracy are critical, said the company. The combination of a small size, low power requirements and multiplexed digital communications make this sensor ideal for installation directly inside chambers and bells, they continued. Marisys Inc.

‘Instant On’ Video Overlay
Video TXT is a solid-state video text screen writer with selectable font sizes. An enhancement of the overlay system that is built into the company’s DVRs Inspector and Peli, this 1U rack-mountable overlay has been designed specifically for the ROV market and can be operated from a standard PS2 keyboard via an RS232 link from a PC or NAV computer. NETmc Marine Ltd.

Sound Velocity Sensor
Any SV•Xchange™ sensor can be connected to any Xchange-enabled instrument without compromising calibration accuracy. Key benefits include increased instrument field time, lower cost of ownership, greater convenience and increased flexibility, the company said. Applied Microsystems.

Seabed Imaging Sonar Software
The Scanline data acquisition and logging software package for StarFish sonar produces near-photo quality images of the seabed, according to the company. The Scanline software operates from any 2000/XP/ Vista-based PC or laptop to capture and display real-time StarFish side scan sonar data. Tritech International Ltd.

Waterside Security System
HarborGuard® System is based on a layered approach, providing the ability to detect, assess and deter threats. First, multiple small-target radars provide 360º coverage. Next, long-range, infrared and CCTV cameras focus on the radars’ report of an infringement and allow identification of the threat. Finally, long-range acoustic units are used to engage the threat with audible warning messages. L-3 Communi-cations Klein Associates Inc.

Bulkhead Connectors
The HydroVolt line of ruggedized underwater electrical connectors is available in brass, stainless steel and aluminum. Aluminum shell connectors are anodized to military specifications. AK Industries.

Operator Demo Software
A demo of an operator software package is available, both on CD by request and as a download. The notable change is that all three modes, 330m, 440m and alternating, are now user-selectable from a drop-down menu. Software. FarSounder Inc.

Syntactic Foams
Two foams are now available that are capable of more than 15,000 psi of uniaxial compressive stress. Using new materials, MB 48 and MB 52, both do-it-yourself kits combine TEC-manufactured glass microballoons with a specifically developed rigid oven-cured epoxy. Trelleborg Emerson & Cuming Inc.

Telemetry Instrument
TorqueTrak 10K is portable and fits any size shaft at any torque level. It has a battery-powered RF transmitter with a transmission distance of around 20 ft. It comes with front-panel display, remote control, power standby, shunt calibration and voltage and digital output signal. Binsfeld Engineering Inc.
