Hewitt

Cornick
Ocean Signal Ltd. (Margate, England) appointed James Hewitt as its sales and marketing manager for U.K. and overseas markets in April. Hewitt's experience includes having worked with a leading U.K. electronics manufacturer as export sales manager, and also extends to the practical side of yachting; Hewitt has competed in national, European and world championships for dinghies, keel boats and currently helms a J-109 yacht.

Rob Cornick was named senior program manager at SeeByte Ltd. (Edinburgh, Scotland) in April. Cornick, recently retired from the Royal Navy after 25 years as a marine warfare specialist, was previously a mine warfare program officer at NATO's Undersea Research Centre in La Spezia, Italy, where he provided expertise and leadership in researching, testing and shaping NATO's future mine countermeasures operating concepts and capabilities.

Alistair Birnie will be stepping down as chief executive officer of Subsea U.K. (Aberdeen, Scotland) after two years on the post, the company announced in April. He will remain with Subsea U.K. until a successor has been found. Subsea U.K. said it expects to appoint a successor shortly.

Jerry J. Cura joined Woods Hole Group (East Falmouth, Massachusetts) in late March as a senior environment scientist. Cura, Ph.D. in biological oceanography, brings more than 20 years of experience in the field and as a principal in Menie-Cura Associates. He has also been published in areas including dredged material disposal evaluation methods, evaluating ecological impacts in marine and aquatic environments, and the ecology of plankton populations on the continental shelves.

Dieter Royal was named chief financial officer of Tognum Group (Friedrichshafen, Germany). In October, Royal will succeed Joachim Coers, who is replacing chief executive officer Volker Heuer after he retires. Royal is currently head of corporate finance at Tognum AG, where he is responsible for investor relations, accounting, corporate planning, treasury, taxes, mergers and acquisitions, and investment controlling worldwide. He has been with Tognum since 2007.

Barrie Hay was appointed manufacturer's representative in April for the U.K. and European markets for Remote Ocean Systems (San Diego, California). Hay, based in Aberdeen, Scotland, has more than 20 years of sales experience in the subsea industry.

T.D. Williamson Inc. (Tulsa, Oklahoma) named Mike Benjamin as vice president of offshore pipeline solutions in March. Benjamin, who has been in the oilfield service industry for 25 years, formerly worked at Schlumberger.
