, Vitry-sur-Seine, France, contract awarded (terms not provided) to supply and install its SENIN integrated navigation systems aboard two Horizon-class frigates. The new systems will replace the existing navigation systems installed when the frigates entered service. (French navy)

Science Applications International Corp., McLean, Virginia, contract awarded (terms not provided) for two deep-ocean assessment and reporting of tsunami (DART) buoys. The DART systems consist of a modular surface buoy subsystem, a single pressure-vessel-integrated bottom-pressure recorder subsystem and a self-deploying mooring and anchor subsystem. Donjon Marine Co. Inc., Hillside, New Jersey, contract awarded (terms not provided) for a New York Harbor dredging project that will deepen the Newark Bay and Arthur Kill channels by nine feet to a depth of 52 feet mean low water. The project, a joint venture with Jay Cashman Inc. (Quincy, Massachusetts), calls for dredging and disposal of close to three million cubic yards of material. (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers)

Sonardyne International Ltd., Yateley, England, contract awarded (terms not provided) for its 6G acoustic equipment, which will be installed on five seven-kilometer pipeline bundles. While the pipeline is being towed to a final location in the North Sea, the equipment will provide the towmaster with real-time information on position, depth and shape, preventing damage to the pipeline.
